An update from Exeed on COVID-19

Dear Exeed Customers and Suppliers,

Given the unfolding situation regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the world, we would like to provide you with an update on the precautionary measures we have put in place across our offices and warehouses. The well-being of our team, our customers, our suppliers and the communities that we live in is at the centre of all our decisions.

In addition, we would like to update you on the current situation with supply of products.

We have been closely monitoring the situation and the official health and workplace advice. We have been actively communicating with our employees and providing them with Government and expert advice around good hygiene practices and maintaining clean work areas. We provide hand sanitiser, disinfectant wipes, soap dispensers and surface cleaners in all our offices. We have also reinforced with our staff the importance of monitoring their own health and if they are feeling unwell or are showing signs of illness, they are to remain at home. We will also be offering a free flu vaccination to all employees in April. Most of our staff can very easily work from home and that might become very important in time to keep the business running efficiently.

For the safety and health of our staff we will be asking guests to our office to answer three questions. If they answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions we will not allow access to our office. The questions are:
– Do you have flu like symptoms?
– Have you been in contact or near anyone who has been suspected to have COVID-19 or is a confirmed case?
– In the last 28 days have you or anyone you live with returned from overseas?

The team at Exeed are well used to utilising Microsoft Teams meetings and we encourage our customers and suppliers to move face to face meetings to Teams meetings. Here’s a couple of useful links to get you started if you haven’t already:

We are discouraging non-essential business travel and face to face meetings. Please be assured that we are all available on the phone or on email or via a Teams meeting. We have excellent resources for advice over the phone or by email plus our online store, Exeed Online, has lots of product information and resources at your fingertips. Overseas visitors are not permitted to visit any Exeed office until further notice.

We are maximising orders on all our vendors to secure stock. We have ordered more than we usually would and earlier. Most of the factories in China are almost up to normal capacity and product is starting to flow into our warehouse. Cargo ships are still permitted into New Zealand, so we are receiving stock via sea. Air freight will be impacted due to less flights into New Zealand, so we expect delays on air cargo. We are in constant communication with our suppliers and freight forwarders to optimise the service delivery levels under the current conditions.

There has also been a change in the courier delivery process. NZ Post couriers (including CourierPost and Pace) will knock on the door as usual and step back two metres (or as far back as safe). They will wait for someone to come to the door and greet them as usual. They will then ask for the recipient’s name (to record proof of delivery) and leave the parcel on the doorstep. The person receiving the parcel will not sign for the delivery directly.
